Sharjah:  As the Arabian Travel Market 2024 (ATM) draws near, the emirate of Sharjah gears up for active participation under the theme 'Empowering Innovation - Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship'.

Set to take place from May 6 to 9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event will witness the engagement of 27 public and private entities, including the prominent Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA).

Sharjah's tourism offerings on display

During the event, Sharjah aims to showcase its latest tourist, entertainment, cultural, and adventure offerings, along with ongoing projects and future strategies. This initiative underscores the emirate's commitment to maintaining its status as a premier destination for global tourists and visitors.

Commitment to tourism excellence

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and guidance of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Al Midfa highlighted Sharjah's achievements in positioning itself as a fast-growing tourist destination and reiterated the commitment to further success in alignment with national objectives.

Focus on innovation and sustainability

Al Midfa emphasized the importance of Sharjah's participation in the Arabian Travel Market in showcasing advancements in the tourism and travel sector. The platform also serves as a crucial avenue for building innovative partnerships and achieving sustainability standards in the global travel and tourism ecosystem.

Express tour guide training service

As part of its initiatives, SCTDA will launch a Tour Guide Training Service during ATM 2024. This service will offer participants the opportunity to obtain an official tour guide license within hours after completing training programs held in both Arabic and English. Al Midfa highlighted the aim of cultivating a capable workforce among youth and entrepreneurs, enriching the tourism experience while enhancing the emirate's appeal.

Participating entities

Sharjah's pavilion at ATM 2024 will feature 27 public and private entities, including the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA), the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIOH), and the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq). From the private sector, participants include travel and tourism agencies like Sharjah National Hotels (SNH), Air Arabia, and Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa, among others.
